Christmas Gathering Information

One of the most treasured Sovereign Grace traditions is quickly approaching: 


Our All-Church Christmas Gathering!



This year's gathering will take place on Sunday, December 15th from 5-7pm in the

Sovereign Grace Educational Building. 


There are two things we need from attendees: 


(1) RSVP and sign up for childcare!

Click HERE to let our team know that you are planning on coming, and if you are a parent, please RSVP for your children as well. 

* We have a Nursery available for ages 0-3 and a Children's Party for ages 4-11. Both will have pizza, applesauce, etc provided for their dinner. 

* The Infant/Toddler nursery will take place in the Educational building and will last for the entirety of the gathering (5-7pm). 

* The Children's Party will last from 5-6:30pm. Children will then be released to attend the Caroling portion of the gathering with their parents. 



(2) Sign up to bring a dish, participate in the Gingerbread House Contest, and to help, if you are able!

We encourage all attendees to bring a food item (think "fancy potluck" style!). Please sign up for a specific category of food and bring it with you!

There are many ways you can get involved in helping with this event, from decorating, to serving food, to helping with the nursery - many hands make for light work!

Saturday, December 7th: Ladies Christmas Gathering

Women of the church are invited to join in for a fun morning of fellowship as we begin celebrating the wonderful Christmas season. Mark your calendars for December 7th from 10am-12pm at the Cooper's home (7943 Sunnyvale Ln). Attendees are encouraged to bring something salty or sweet to share, as well as a small wrapped "favorite thing" item to be exchanged as part of the festivities. See this flyer for more information! Saturday, December 7th: Youth Christmas Party

Our annual Youth Christmas Party will take place on Saturday, December 7th from 5:00-8:00pm at the Johnson's house! Please RSVP to Ricky Johnson (ricky.johnson@sovereigngrace.org) by December 3rd if you have any youth who will be attending. 


Sunday, December 8th: Music Evening Service

One of the highlights of the Christmas season at Sovereign Grace is the annual Christmas Music Program.  This year, it will take place on the evening of December 8th at 6:00 pm, and will include selections offered by by members of the congregation, our children’s choir, and the adult choir.


Friday, December 13th: Young Adult Christmas Party

The Young Adult Christmas Party will be Friday, December 13th from 6:00 to 8:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall.   Dinner will be provided as well as childcare.   There will be a white elephant gift exchange for those who want to participate (limit $10). Please RSVP to Pastor Will (Will.Keyton@sovereigngrace.org)  by Monday, December 9th. 


Sunday, December 15th: All-Church Christmas Gathering

Come enjoy a special and joyous evening of fellowship with our church family at our All-Church Christmas Gathering! We will gather in the fellowship hall on Sunday, December 15th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm to share heavy hors d’oevres and end our evening singing carols together at 6:30pm.   Nursery will be provided for infants & toddlers, and there will be a Children’s Party for ages 4-11 in Calvin Hall (dinner will be provided for both). We will also have a Gingerbread house contest!  Please RSVP using the QR code or on the church website, where you can also sign up for food, nursery needs and the gingerbread house contest.


Tuesday, December 17th: Anna Society Christmas Tea

Ladies of the Anna Society are invited for a Christmas Tea at the home of Pastor Will & Hope (8212 Trail View Dr) at 10:30am on the morning of Tuesday, December 17th. Please come enjoy a light brunch as you celebrate the season and recall fondest memories of Christmases past. Please RSVP (rebekah.shillinglaw@sovereigngrace.org) by Tuesday, December 10th if you can make it. Any "well seasoned" lady in the church is invited to join the Anna Society in this last gathering of the calendar year! 


Sunday, December 22nd: Brighton Gardens Caroling

All church members and families are invited to join us as we go out to visit seniors in Brighton Gardens to share the love of Christ with the singing of Christmas carols. We will meet at the church on Sunday, December 22nd at 3:40pm and carpool to Brighton Gardens (or drive directly to Brighton Gardens) to begin singing at 4:00pm. There we will gather in their common area and sing familiar Christmas hymns. We will return to the church afterward, prior to the start of the evening service. Tuesday, December 24th:  Christmas Eve Candlelight Service

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service: Saturday, December 24th, 5:00pm. Please plan to make our church’s Christmas Eve service a part of your Christmas celebration. With the intense busyness of the season, a service of worship leading into Christmas helps to put the focus on God’s grace and the wonder of the Incarnation. Join with your brothers and sisters in Christ here at Sovereign Grace as we join together to worship God. Please also invite family and friends. A Christmas Eve service can be a great evangelistic opportunity, as we meditate on the reason Christ came into the world. 


Sunday, December 29th: Evening Service of Prayer & Hymn-Singing

Join us on Sunday evening, December 29th at 6:00pm for a time of prayer and hymn singing as we praise God for his faithfulness and mercy in the past year and pray for His continued faithfulness to His promises in the year to come.
